Artist Statement

My art consists mostly of landscapes that are sentimental to me or similar to the types of scenes I experienced growing up in Northwest Louisiana. The subject matter is usually selected in a way to make allusions to the human condition, humans coexistence with their natural environment, and my own personal experiences and feelings. Forms are abstracted and broken lines are used to give my compositions a sense of energy and movement. I try to achieve a very expressive quality in my paintings that reflect something about me by way of components like brush strokes, line quality, and shapes that I consider compelling.
